Dr. Kartike Gulati
Dr. Gulati is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. His residency training was at Michigan State University with additional fellowship training in Otology and Neurotology at University of Minnesota. Prior to his career as a surgeon, he was an engineer at Baxter Healthcare. He has continued his passion for engineering and innovation within the field of surgery and owns multiple US and international patents. He has also been involved in advancing science by authoring peer-reviewed publications.
During Dr. Gulati’s time at University of Minnesota, he trained with the world renown ear surgeon, Dr. Michael Paparella. He joined Paparella Ear, Head and Neck Institute while in Minnesota. Eventually Dr. Gulati decided to practice in Northwest Indiana in 2018 to be near family, and to help provide tertiary level care with regards to Otologic conditions.
As a partner of Indiana Ear and Sinus Institute, Dr. Gulati focuses on surgical treatment for chronic ear infections, hearing and balance disorders, cholesteatomas, surgery for hearing bones (ossiculoplasty/stapes procedure), surgery for ear drum (tympanoplasty), surgery for mastoid tumors/infection (mastoidectomy), and Eustachian tube disorders. He also addresses problems related to sinus, allergy, nose, throat, salivary gland, head and neck masses, and skin cancer. He offers additional in office procedural options.
His practice philosophy stresses on information exchange allowing shared decision making with patients with regards to their care. He believes in practicing evidence-based medicine, however, understands the importance of treatment plan tailored for the individual. Dr. Gulati’s outside interests include spending time with family including his wife and two sons, tennis, table tennis, skiing, hiking, biking, and traveling. He continues to be involved with regards to innovation in biotechnology.
